Verb Forms Game - Charade & Board Race

This ESL activity helps students to review their knowledge about three forms of word (bare infinitive, past tense, and past participle). I've tried this in my class and my student loved it! This is a recommended ESL games without any preparation, all you need to have are only a white board and two board markers. This is how you do it.

Preparation
  1. Divide the class into group of ten
  2. Ask every member of the group to write a verb (bare infinitive), so a group will have a list consists of ten verbs.
How to play the game:
  1. Choose a person from each group to do the charade and decide which play first
  2. Let the first charade player acts out the first verb of other group's list
  3. When his/her teammate success guessing the verb, one of the teammate need to write the three verbs forms of the verb on the whiteboard. Continue until the player acts out all of the verbs on the list.
  4. Do the same with the other group.
This English class game really suggested for big class, about 20 students, but it works as well with some modification. If you teach small class, less than 10 students, you can make them work together and you provide the list.

Overall review:
Level      : Beginner to Intermediate
Time       : 10-20 minutes
Preparation: almost no preparation needed! only whiteboard , paper, pen, and board-marker! Suitable for last-minute activity
Engagement : 4.5/5
